I’ll provide you with examples and templates, which you can copy, paste, and edit. No worries if you’ve never made your own site. Make a simple website, compose some content for it, and publish it using your UVic webspace.You’ll learn to integrate audio, images, and even video alongside quotations in your writing about fiction. Use media as forms of evidence in arguments and criticism.I will assume you have no previous experience with media production. You’ll have opportunities to practice composing across these media. Communicate critically with audio, images, and text.We’ll practice various techniques for listening, watching, reading, and playing media, and you’ll develop a vocabulary for talking about media and fiction together. Along the way, you’ll learn how to write about media and fiction for the web and how to integrate a range of modalities into the interpretive process. This course samples various approaches to engaging audio, images, and text in fiction, which has a long and rich history of storymaking with media, from theatre, oral storytelling, and illustrated novels to comics, animation, and radio drama.
